Kaden Rourke was born on January 7th at 9:01pm. I am happy to report that he was born at home and delivered by our wonderful midwives, Sonja and Christine. Kaden weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces and measured 20 inches long. He definitely looks like Rourke, sporting a darker complexion and brown hair. The experience of our home birth was exactly what I had wanted. I was comfortable. I felt safe. I never felt stressed or worried about the birth. I trusted my body and the wisdom of Sonja and Christine. I felt like all of the preparation, research, etc. truly paid off. We are all doing great.

...but I won't lie... it did hurt a bit :)

So the due date came and went... no baby. I have more time to nest!

Anyways... here are a few photos from a photo shoot on December 12. Our amazing friends Kathy and Babak were nice enough to dress us, take our pictures, and feed us - we're spoiled.
